Homestead Tax Credit On-Line Application
Link to the on-line site for submitting the necessary one-time application for the Homestead Tax Credit on your Property Tax. Application must be submitted within 60 days of your Assessment Notice Date. The information you need to fill in on the on-line application--in addition to the name(s), Social Security Number(s), and addresses of the Homeowner(s)--are your Real Property Account Number and your Access Number and can be found on the front side of the Tax Credit Application form mailed along with the assessment notice.

Reports from UHACA Treasurer Tim Hunt and Ward 3 Hyattsville City Councilman MattMcKnight on a public presentation of a proposal for property development behind the Prince George's Plaza area called Belcrest Plaza. Energy Conservation Tax Credit
Prince George's County Council establishes a tax credit for residential homeowners who utilize solar or geothermal energy conservation devices. Homeowners installing new heating, hot water, or electric generation systems using an alternative energy source such as solar or geothermal, would be eligible for a tax credit up to $1,500 for a hot water supply system and up to $5,000 for a heating system.

Internet Reporting of Crimes in Hyattsville
A Hyattsville Police Department notice that their crime reports are easily available on line at a website that stores reports from various police departments in a Google-map-indexed database. It allows you to use your address to generate a listing of local crimes near you along with a Google map pinpointing the crime locations. You may also sign up for periodic reports delivered via e-mail on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and vary other parameters of the report you receive, i.e. the radius of coverage and the crime type.

Hyattsville Crime Alerts
This link takes you to the Safe City Alert System website of the Hyattsville Police department, where you can sign up for public safety alerts delivered to you via e-mail on a timely basis. For example, the report that two homes in the University Hills area were burglarized Sunday morning, December 28, 2008.

Hyattsville City Map
An excellently done, color-coded map of the current City of Hyattsville, including ward boundaries and marked locations of schools and parks. The map was created March 10, 2008, in PDF format, original size equals 11x17, beautiful on line and printable to 8.5x11 letter size when using the "shrink to fit" Adobe Reader option, though somewhat hard for older eyes to read finer details on the reduced print version.
To read and print any of these files, you will need an Adobe Reader or other similar viewer that can handle .pdf documents.
Adobe Reader applications are often a part of your internet browser as a plug-in. If so, clicking on the link should automatically open the respective file.
